URO Parts S80

I have found a reliable source of parts for my Volvo which supplements what I have to purchase at the dealer. It's URO Parts and so far I have not been disappointed with their quality. I have purchased hoses for my cooling system and hood struts most recently. Though they are more expensive than the cheaper parts from China and elsewhere, I pay a little more to obtain their good quality. This company markets its products through IPD and other reliable Volvo independent suppliers, which to me, indicates that they are satisfied with their quality.

I have also found URO parts to be low quality.

Not exactly sure where they come from, but the rumor mill says they're Scan-Tech knock offs.

lol..never heard that rumor. What is a Scan Tech knockoff and why would anyone want to knock them off?

My experience, though limited as I now avoid these guys, especially if the part contains a rubber type bit, is they work for about 6 - 9 months. OK, if you need a quick fix, but not long term unless you like repeating the task.

Uro parts are a budget, low cost, option for people about to sell their Volvos but are not really suitable for long-term use. They offer a low cost headlight replacement for example but the adjusters on it are poorly designed. The replacement gas door spring required in my case, going to the hardware store and buying sheet metal screws to hold it in place. Their prices on hoses are appealing since the dealership charges so much but it is better to seek out people selling original Volvo hoses at prices less than the dealership
