Gas Cover stuck 850 96R S/W

The gas cover which normally unlocks with the car has been sticking more frequently.I am getting fed up of needing to lift up the panel covers and pulling on the E wire.I sprayed WD40 on it which helped for a while.Is there a spring or somethings that is loose? Please help.

    Check to see if the locking tab on the gas door is bent, causing the locking pin to bind. The get bent easily. If ok, replace the lock motor. They wear out. Or attach a piece if wire to the linkage behind the panel and rout more conveniently.

      You can also remove the lock and forget about it. the door stays shut nicely without it.
