No electric to fuel pump C70

I was having issues starting my car. It would start and then cut right out. I was told by several men that my fuel pump needed replacing. I spent the weekend replacing the fuel pump. I did remember to disconnect the negative from the battery. It wasn't easy due to the lack of room in the trunk due to the convertible top. Whenever I put the new fuel pump in, it isn't getting any power. I also replaced the fuel pump relay and it didn't help. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

How did you determine there's no power at the fuel pump?
Did you measure DCV at the fuel pump connector? Maybe you lost the ground return?
You have to insure that the Ground return path is good to see 12VDC.
Try placing the black meter lead on the car frame at the ground point near the fuel pump and see if there's 12VDC at the connector.
Check the battery grounds (2) also.

The reason why I feel I'm not getting power is whenever I turn the key to the on position, the pump makes no sound. I have a new battery in my car (7 months old)

You need a multimeter and a schematic to troubleshoot electrical issues.
Volvo has fabulous wiring diagrams for every model, find them free online.
Did you check the fuse?

Yes I did check the fuse. Thanks for the tip on the wiring diagram. I was able to find one for my car. I'm hoping it's an easy fix. When I called the parts store about my issue, they did say I could of gotten a faulty fuel pump. I'm going to test the wiring before I go taking out the pump again. I appreciate your help.
