Headlight wiper motor won't stop running 850 1995

Continue to hear this wine coming from left headlight, found to be

continous running headlight wiper motor, how do I stop it. I disconnected

main harness behind left headlight and it stops, but this also disables all front lights. Any suggestions. Don't really know what activates the headlight wipers since I just got this car last week.

    Hmm faced this problem on my VW Golf GTi. after some water got into the car left under a gushing roof drainpipe. moisture caused the relay to malfunction, and the wiper wouldnt stop even when switched off. dunno if volvo uses the same kinds relays.

    I had a similiar problem on my S70. Normally, when you wash the windshield it activates the wiper motors, one on each light. In my case, 2 things would start them running. First, washing the winshield would send one of them into a continuous wiping mode, and only stopping/starting the car would stop it. In the other case, if I had just washed the car, it would sometimes start wiping when I started the car, but would then stop after about 30 seconds. At any rate, the fix was to replace the headlight wiper motors. I had it done under warranty, but my guess is that it's not cheap.

    The headlight wiper motor has a connection of it's own, it's in the area of the headlight, try reaching under the back of the headlight find the wiper motor and then trace the wire to it's connection.
