rivets for splash guards 850 97

Anyone know where I can find new rivets for the front splash guards on my 97 850? The old ones pulled out, and I've tried standart aluminum rivits, but they won't hold in the bottom 2 holes. I'd like to find rubber-coated ones like the OEM ones.

I have noticed the passenger side splash gaurd has lost the bottom two rivets also. What is the the max depth these rivets should go/should be? Not sure whats behind the splash gaurd and fender wall.

    Thanks

When I installed rear mud flaps I did it with stainless steel screws / lock washers and screws and put a medium adhesion threadlocker on (one that does not require heat to remove). So far after 3500 miles no problem.

Brad, The stock OEM Volvo rivits are set up so they will pull out easy enough as not to let the body work get damaged if the splash guards rub, or get caught on something. I also had the splash guards instaled at the rear wheels, and so far(in the last 18 months)I have lost two of these rivits......I have them replaced with the exact OEM fastners ONLY.

You can get them from the dealer for something like $.35 each.

I got a handful for about $2 Canadian.

Cut off the original rivets with diagonal cutters , push the remainder in. At a bodyshop or supply house you can get what looks like roofing nail with rings on the shank. These can be pushed through and will hold the flaps in place.
