Hi guys. My hood release on my 2005 V70 T5 is jammed or frozen since it has been -15 C here all week. I opened the hood to fill the washer fluid bottle and now I cannot close it. The mechanisms on both sides seem to move with a screw driver and are lubricated but the hood won't latch. Is the hood release a cable that needs freeing up? or is it an electrical switch? any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

I fixed the problem with a hairdryer heating up an exposed portion of the cable under the hood while wiggling the cable both at the lever end and at the two locking mechanisms. Then tested each mechanism with a screw driver to make sure it latches and releases. OK now and back on the road. Can't wait til Spring!!
