cooling Fan runs all night if I let it S80 1999

This is a second hand question.
Friends '99 T6 has a problem where the cooling fan runs as soon as the battery is connected. My guess is a relay but I am a 200 guy. Have no S80 experience.
Wouldn't even know where the fuse box is on this car. Please point me in the correct direction.

There is a cooling fan 'control module' that can fail. I saw one that suggested a screwdriver handle banged against the module solved the problem. A new module is expensive.

There is a relay in the engine compartment fuse box.

The fuses are in the engine compartment, driver's side, AND the left end of the upper dash. The latter is accessed with the door open.

Great stuff. This is obviously the issue. Too bad Volvo just told my friend that the stature of limitations ran out and they wont do the recall.
Wonder if we can just hard wire it through a standard Temp Switch at the radiator.
