Need new exhaust/mufflers, and looking for options V70-XC70 1998

I have a '98 V70 AWD, and both of the mufflers have holes and need replacing. The original muffler system has one tailpipe on the passenger side and two mufflers, one on each side. It looks like the exhaust flows through the muffler on the driver's side and then through the passenger muffler and tailpipe. The OE replacement for this is both very expensive and hard to find. I am looking to find less expensive and easier alternatives that won't hurt performance. The car has 178K miles or thereabouts.

Thanks!

I got an email from FCP about 2 weeks ago that said they had a "Volvo Exhaust Overstock" sale going on.

I just replaced this on my own 98 V70 R AWD this past week. There is a resonator on the driver's side and a muffler on the passenger side. Both of mine were leaking also.

First find a good reasonable exhaust shop. For $85, I had them remove the muffler, resonator, and center pipe, and just install a single muffler off the main pipe on the driver's side. Since this setup doesn't have a resonator, resonance is heard when driving, but not a huge issue. Not noisy at all, but noticeable.

This is probably your cheapest solution. My R bumper already had a cutout for the other side, but you might need to cut the bumper to make this work.
