Try Insulator Wax by Collinites. It's hard to find but lasts and shines longer than anything I have ever used. It's an industrial wax used to prevent electrical flashovers. I have converted many Zymol and Blitz wax users to this and all say they would never go back. But the bottom line is as long as you wax your car you're doing it some good.

For plastic, try 303 Aerospace (available at marine stores) or Lexol Vinylex (available at Pepboys, etc).

For wax, Zaino is certainly more durable than Zymol, but time consuming to apply. Try out Klasse or Blitz for a comparable shine to Zaino. Pinnacle also makes good, but no so durable products. Skip the discount store waxes.

ZAINO baby! You can get it @ www.zainobros.com. That stuff is pretty easy to use and you don't need a lot of elbow grease to apply it. The shine is phenomenal (at least on my car). A lot of people on other boards have sworn by it. Give it a try. It's a little on the expensive side, but IMHO, it's totally worth it.

I have yet to wax our 2001 XC but when I do, I'm trying Zymol Volovo formula.
