Seat heater not heating XC90 2004

The driver's side seat heater stopped working, just in time for our Vermont winter. The indicator lights on the switch come on when I press the button, but no heat. Any experience with this? Is it a dealer-only? If so, how much does would you estimate the fix to cost?

Thanks, as always!

If the wiring under the seat looks OK - try by-passing the switch - Volvo switches are not up to the quality of some of their other parts

You first need to check the wiring under the seat. Some size 14s might have pulled the plug out.

The wires go into a thermostat/plug that is inserted into the seat cushion, near the rear on older 850/70 cars, yours might be the same. Otherwise look for a bad fuse.

A dealer will find something wrong and start replacing parts. The mechanics are not that good with interior parts. Do your homework first.
