scraping noise (anti-sway bushings?) 850 95

OK, shortly after pulling out of a parking space this 854 turbo sedan (on level smooth pavement) will make a sound from the fron end as though it was scraping the chin spoiler on a speed bump, it does this once and then doesn't repeat it for the duration of the trip..

I look under the car and see nothing which is close to the ground or looks like it scrapes - I'm asking for suggestions as to what this may be besides my imagination

My car does the same exact thing and I was concerned about it also, but as stated the other response it is in fact the ABS pump. Had my car checked out by a Volvo specialist and that is what he told me.

Probably hearing the ABS self test. Each time the car is started and driven, the ABS system runs a self diagnostic. Part of this function is to briefly run the ABS pump motor. The pump test occurs at about 17 mph and sounds like a scraping noise. Once the test runs, it doesn't do it again till you switch off the car and restart.
