Turn Signal Relay - Noise 850 1997

Hi,

Another issue. Well, I have a few that I've not gotten fixed yet, and think I'm going to try and tackle some of these on my own, with the help of my brother, and with your input and advice. Need to save money. :)

My turn signal for years actually on occasion, squeaks when activated. Now, instead of sqeaking it's making some sort of strange creaking sounds different than the squeak. Anyway, I have a feeling the relay is on it's way out.

Is this relay located under the dash panel? Is it fairly easy to access and replace?

Thank you.

I think the flasher relay is part of / connected to, the hazard light switch.
It's easy enough to pry that switch out of the dash and check.

Could be wrong on that though as I've never had mine out. I checked the Haynes manual and didn't see a reference in there.

      Turn Signal Relay - Noise 850 1997

      Hi,

I'v read a couple of things, a relay under the days, or part of the hazard light switch. I think it must be the hazard light switch as you said, because when it makes noise, it sounds like it's coming from the area of the hazard switch.

So, how do you remove those dash switches, from behind the dash, or you just pry them out as you mentioned? How can you pry it out without scratching the switch/dash?

      Thank you for the info.

      M

I believe all you do is use a small screwdriver (or two - one on the upper part of the switch and one on the bottom) inserted in the gap between the switch and the dashboard and gently rock them back and forth.
