What are dealers charging for 30K service ? V70-XC70 1998

My 98 V70 is coming up on the 30k service. First major service with a flush and fill of the transmission, cooling system, and brake systems. Service also includes air, oil, and pollen filter replacement. Spark Plugs are also replaced, the rest of the service is an inspection and various smaill items. Well I checked with the one and only Volvo dealership and they want $550 for this service. Ouch ! I was wondering what others have had to pay for this service. I will probably do as much as I can and find an alternate service center for the tranny, radiator, and brake fluid flush and fill.

Re: What are dealers charging for 30K service ? V70-XC70 2000

I think mine was sub $300 - I only brought it in for that service because I didn't know how to check this gear thing (don't remember the name right off) in the AWD system - turns out they say they don't check it really anyways (so why is it in the service manual?) :-)

It was over $200 - somewhere around 270 I think. I'd only had mine for 9 months when I hit that. Starting to run it a bit less - probably won't hit 50k until the 2 year mark :-) I hate making payments on something after the warranty runs out...

Hi,

I do this myself and costs for parts are only $70.00.

Relatively easy to do.
