Extude Honing 850

Has anyone had this done on their 850/_70?

No. But... 850

I did e-mail E.H. to get flow numbers for a Cobra upper intake for a fuel injected Ford. Their numbers for $400 were NOT what you could get if you simply bought a better intake.

To me, very little bang for the buck.

Now, where the process shines is in racing when you MUST RUN FACTORY or OTHER SPECIFIC PARTS. You can make those parts flow to the maximum with the E.H. process.

I'd say just buy a better (substitue part to be E.H.'d here) and replace your factory part.

Re: No. But... 850

Yeah, I thought about just buying a better aftermarket one...but when you find how limited amount of tuners that actually offer more than just chip and catback, you can be sure no one out there is selling a kit for Volvo T5.

It was like you said, very little bang for the buck.

I hope no one would make the same mistake I did. :D Aren't you glad someone actually experimented it and made the mistake for you?

is it worth the money?

Re: Extude Honing 850

I would say..it was not worth it. Maybe the exhaust manifold from factory was designed to perform at its best already or I simply didn't have any luck extrude honing it.

The internal surface sure was very smooth, overall a very impressive job.

But I just didn't think it was worth the price. I didn't notice that much of gain if any. I could be wrong, sometimes very picky about power gain.

Having said all that, it could be different for different cars...maybe for your car it would be worthwhile. I wouldn't mind try to squeeze out last bit of possible power.
