What is the most reliable Volvo AWD model ??? ($10-20K)

I need a replacement car, I live in Wyoming so AWD is a must.
Previous cars included a '89 740 N/A, 90 740 N/A, & '91 940 SE.
I'd like a car with the reliability of my 740/940s, but AWD.

What would the most reliable Volvo AWD car be ???
prefer to be 10-20K range on price. smaller is better but reliability is #1 concern. also MT or AT is fine, trying to get opinions on most bulletproof Volvo AWD.

Just looking for something that wont be breaking down all the time, with a good all wheel drive system.

thanks
kevin p.

I think the XC70 is going to be your best bet.

Make sure the differential fluids are all in good condition and changed from time to time, and also make sure your tires stay appropriately balanced! Unbalanced tires can prematurely kill the angle gear of your AWD Volvo.

Isn't this pretty?

The "R" has been known to come with a 6 speed manual in the US. All R's come with Nivomat rear shocks. Ground clearance is pretty low so snow drifts can be a problem.

Lots of trucks in your neighborhood!

The only reliable AWD is from Haldex, used by BMW, Audi, MB, and Volvo (since 2003). For Volvo, I would go for an XC70, 2005-7 with the 5 cyl low pressure turbo, newer is better for the electronics.

Even Haldex needs some maintenance, like and oil and filter change every 40-50K miles. Goood time to also flush the transfer case and auto tranny.

It will be impossible to find a stick shift in the USA.
