Check engine light is on. Engine Management manual is one I do not have. What mode is used to read out the codes for check engine light and what is the procedure for entering the mode and going through the codes. Finally are all the codes under this mode "P" prefix codes?

mathews volvo site has a listing of every single fault code in each of the obd1 ports and instructions on how to get them. I printed the list off and keep it in my glove box.

The 1994 models still have the diagnostic boxes onder the hood, use them! Just check all of the A and B ports, writing down the 3 number codes as you get them. Erase the codes after you write them down and see which ones come back to get the culprit.
