93 850 microswitch fixed but now car won't start 850

So what did I do? My 850 had the classic switch interlock issue so I got a new microswitch and replaced per instructions on Volvospeed. What a PITA to get to! So I put it all back together and now the shifter will move from park when I press on the brake but...now the ignition is not functioning. The dash lights flash but no start.

Its too hot and I am too tired to disassemble again tonight. Any idea what may have caused this issue? I did slide the grey ignition physical cable to the side per the Volvospeed instructions but replaced it back like it was. Is this an adjustment thing or electrical genie? Any ideas before I tear it back apart tomorrow evening?

Problem solved.

I was thinking that tonight I was going to have to remove the console again and check connections and possibly adjust the cable. But first I reconnected the battery, inserted the key but did not attempt to start and ratcheted the shift lever from park to drive several times. Then I put it in park turned the key off. Then placed my foot on the brake, turned the key and the engine started. The shifter worked fine without having to use the over ride button. Repair successful!

I believe that when I moved the cable, it may not have reseated properly so ratcheting the gearshift lever may have returned it to its original position

Does the key not go to position III? Or does it go to the start position and nothing happens? If the latter, the white cable may be slightly out of align and the car thinks that the shift lever is not in P or N.
