850 radio 850

Hi all,
A few months ago I replace my rear deck speakers and they sounded good. After enjoying the radio for a few months, out of nowhere, the radio fuse blew. I replace the fuse and immediately the new fuse blew too. Anyone have any insight? Anything to do with the new speakers perhaps?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

volvo speakers are 4 ohms like almost all car stereo speakers are. I'm thinking that during the replacement of your speakers you took the insulation off one the wires by pulling it against the bare metal of the deck and it's now shorting. I would look carefully at the wires going to the speakers and make sure they are 4 ohms not 2 ohms. Usually stamped on the magnet.

Stock radio. 4 ohm speakers, even when unplugged and no key on ignition, fuse blows before I can fully insert it.

Is this a stock radio? Have you tried unplugging the rear speakers before replacing the 15 amp fuse? What size (ohms) speakers did you install?

I even tried another stock radio and same thing. Fuse blows even with no key in the ignition.

Now you have no choice but to find the hot wire that is being grounded. Not a simple task as you will need to look at the main harness behind the radio as well as the speaker wires to the rear deck.

The wiring bundle to the radio is in two parts, concentrate on the larger bundle.

Also check beneath the passenger seat, there might be an amplifier that got disturbed by big feet?
