Replacing radiator V70-XC70 2001

Hi Folks
I seem to have a very small leak in my radiator. Every 2 weeks or so I have to top off. I am thinking of replacing the radiator. How much time would one need to replace it ? I have done multiple radiator replacements on my older 1992 940T, that was RWD and lot of space in bay to work with. How similar is the process for the V70 ? My Volvo mechanic quoted 800 to change it.

Thanks

If the radiator does need replacing, it is a several hour DIY job. Scroll down the page and learn:

Yes, this is for an 850 Turbo, but really close to your car. Ask the mechanic if the radiator and Volvo coolant is included in his estimate. $800 is OK if they are, an OE radiator is over $300 and Volvo coolant is not cheap either.

If you DIY, caution!! do not overtighten the hose clamps, you could crack the plastic. Hose clamps are tight enough when you can no longer twist the hose.

Not sure what you mean by "SEEM to have a very small leak". Do you know it is leaking or do you only know you are loosing coolant? If you only know you are loosing coolant, it could be from a bunch of other places, for example, the heater core is a common leak point. I can't answer the change time question.
