Does size matter? V50

I lost my personal fleet of V70's/850's when my new driver son wrecked both. And I sold my 240... all 4 years ago.. so I have not been tracking Volvos recently. BUT... I'm back in the market.

I'm looking at a V50, on line. How much small is it than a V70? I see the V50 has the 5 cylinder 2.4L, the same as my old 98 V70.

I would appreciate any opinions on the V50, and selection of the V50 vs the V70.

    I just bought a 2006 v50 T5, I had considered the v70, but it seemed big to me. Driver comfort is excellent and the car drives like a solid sports car. Yes, the rear cargo is a bit small, depends on how much and how offer you really carry loads if this would be an issue to you. I drive mostly alone or with one passenger , the back seat seems more than adequate for an average sized person unless you are on a cross country trip.

    The 245 had a wider rear cabin than the V70/855. The V50 is quite small back there, plus lacking in leg room for the rear seat.

    V70s could have a 5cyl up through 2007 or so.
