Hard downshift in trans V70-XC70

2011 XC70 AWD w/44,000 miles. Had car since day 1 w/zero work to trans ever. Noticed recently when coming to a stop while light braking and steady pressure, when the car gets to 30mph, its like I stabbed at the peddle. So trying it w/out braking and same but not as pronouced, when it slows to 30mph, car will jerk as if its dropping to lower gear. This is new. Car is coming off lease in 2 months and thinking about buying. Anyone experience this and if so, what was fix? Dont want to waste money and time on trans flush if this is NOT going to fix and want to be informed before heading to dealer--car has 6,000 miles before warranty expires and dont want dealer saying everything is OK. Thanks for help. Jim

Hard downshift in trans V70-XC70

My xc70 is 2003, but I used to get a very hard rev and or downshift often when I'd come off the highway. Took to dealer and they did something with the software which stopped it. Not sure if this is what you're going through.. Good luck.

There are not a lot of 2011 cars on here. Is the tranny cold or hot when it happens? Watch the tach, if the rpms go up a lot, it is downshifting too soon.

You must go to a dealer. They will probably update the software and proclaim it resolved. Do this soon, so you have time to recreate the problem before the warranty expires.

At 44K miles, even if it is all city driving, the ATF should still be clean and pink.
