I'm back - C70 windshield in the NY area

Hi everyone.

After a few years without a Volvo (shame on me - I know), I'm in the process of buying a C70 convertible.

I will go and see a 2002 this weekend, which reportedly needs a new windshield. The few quotes I got up to now are of the order of $700 (non OEM), which seems absurd.

Any suggestions as to who might do this for a more reasonable price in the NYC area? Or alternatively in the Hartford, CT, area?

Any comments regarding my proposed purchase of a C70 will be very welcome also of course.

Thank you!

The price is not surprising. I had the same issue with my 1998, until I called the insurance company. They replaced it with OEM at no cost to me. If you have glass replacement in your policy, wait 6 months or so and call the insurance company.

Meanwhile, deduct $700 from the asking price.

I looked at Hartford Craigslist and there are a few nice C70's with a reasonable price tag. I am partial to the 04, but haven't found a manual, T5, droptop combination yet, at a decent price.
