Factory Stereo Amplifier 850 1996

I was wondering the exact location of the amplifier and how it can accessed. Does it have a subwoofer outlet? Thanks

The amp is located behind the well in the console underneth the ashtray and ahead of the shifter. I have heard that it can be accessed by removing the console assembly. I haven't tried to go for the amp yet but i did do several console lights and it was a tad difficult to do the console removal. To my knowledge there is no subwoofer outlet and i can't imagine powering a sub with the very low power the amp puts out. Best of luck.

Bishop-

On my '95 the OEM amp was located between the head unit and the firewall on a mounting bracket where the transmission hump would be on a RWD car. Remove the panels from the driver and passanger foot wells and you should be able to get to it. Be prepared for a yoga session.

To my recollection there was no sub-output.

I don't think there is a separate amplifier for 850s and there are no subwoofer output from the factory deck.
