Front Hub V70-XC70

When turning left at low speeds, around 10 to 20 MPH, the driver's side wheel howls like a banshee. It does not do it turning right. I suspect wheel bearings/front hub but I am not 100% sure. Can someone confirm this as a symptom of bad wheel bearings and which brand to replace them with? This is a 2004 XC70 with about 120,000 miles on it. Thanks.

It is hard to say from your very good description, but a bad hub would be my first guess also. Wiggling the wheel at 12 and 6 o'clock probably won't do much for you. Try shaking the car side to side and listen for a clunk.

I prefer using Volvo brand for critical parts. It lasted 120K, so the next one should take you to 240K.
