Over heating after radiator replacement 850 1998

I just re-placed my radiator and I now have overheating issues...even removed the thermostat??? I drive it for 3-4 miles then it starts overheating!!! Never had this issue prior to replacing my radiator

What could be the issue?????

The Engine Coolant Temperature sensor is just below the thermostat. I suggest getting a cheap infared thermometer and checking the upper radiator hose and the thermostat housing.

It is possible that the water pump died and no coolant is flowing...
Or, there is an obstruction in the radiator.

How fast does the temperature gauge go up when the engine is started cold? Is the engine fan running? Once the temperature goes close to the red, shut the engine off! No need to kill the piston rings.

    EDIT:
Did you squeeze the air out of the system after adding the coolant? With the thermostat out of the system and the engine off, just open the cap on the overflow bottle and gently squeeze the large upper radiator hose. Bubbles should come out of the system and into the bottle.

Check the red wire at the relay on top of the radiator, This wire should always be hot!! I am also assuming that you connected the temp sensor back on.

Why did you replace the rad. in the first place?
Is your 3-4 mile run in town averaging below 30mph, or on the highway. If in town, check the fan.
Did u take the thermostat out after it started overheating, or coincident to the rad. swap? If coincident, put the thermostat back in.
