Engine air filter S70 00

Does the S70 use the same engine air filter as 850? Are they readily available at stores, or is there an advantage to using only OEM filters?

Any experiences appreciated.

    Yes. the S70 uses the same air filter as the 850. Have no idea of general availability, though Hastings and I presume at least some other filter manufacturers make them.

    I doubt the OEM is significantly better than a good name brand. On the other hand, AMSOIL and K&N make filters which will last considerably longer. The AMSOIL filter will also filter out more dirt than the paper ones.

    If you go searching, someone did a comparison of oil analyses between two different air filters, the oe paper and the K&N drop in.

    His oil analyses showed that in the K&N actually had cleaner oil. And some but not all "fee" an increase in power. And if you have other mods, you will feel it even more.

      Has anyone used an Amsoil air filter. I purchased one (TS-118) and the fit was very poor. The filter's length was too short leaving a 1/8 inch gap at one end.
