2001 XC70


Can anyone help me with a wiring issue.
I am putting the front end back together after a front end collision and have a plug on the harness that I don't know what it connects to.

The harness has five connectors:

1- side marker light (back edge of fender)
2- alarm siren
3- fog light
4- washer bottle pump
5-??? two wire black connector, wires grey and black, this is the shortest of the five looks like it has to connect very close to the directional light,

IS there a sensor or some such thing attached to the headlight assembly? my headlight was FUBAR and in the woods along with the rest of the front end parts from the accident.

any help appreciated,

    I believe the gray/blk wire ( Gr/Sb in Euro talk) may be for optional headlight wiper motors.

    Are you on the RH or LH side of the car?

    Does the 2001 have position lights? A small bulb that is almost impossible to replace with the headlight attached.

      I think there must be an optional marker light for these models, as i found an identical plug on the the other side,

    A wagon has 2 washer pumps, 1 front, and 1 for the rear. Did you find 2 pumps?

      Bob,

      Yes there are two pumps, but I am looking further up the harness were it comes past the ecu box and then enters into the front fender area, at this point it splits into five plugs as stated in the original message.
      I have looked at two other cars in the boneyard and they are all missing the passengers side headlights, so the connector is just hanging there as well, wich leads me to believe there might be something attached to the headlight assembly that it plugs into.
      Again, this is a two wire plug, black in color, the two wires are black and grey/.

      anyone have access to a schematic diagramming this circuit?

        Looking at a chart from British general wire clours wiper motor uses orange/black stripe wire. I have a plug hanging there with no wiper to plug into and it has the orange/black wire.
