Tips for more pep? 850 1993

I am not looking to turn the car into a ferrari, or a "Ricky road racer." I just like to have a little more get-up-and-go. I'm wondering what I can do to get better driving performance without doing anything outrageous. I'm thinking about platinum plugs, using a higher octane fuel, putting in Koni Sport shocks, and maybe changing the exhaust system.

So if you have any any experience with my ideas, or other tips I'd love to hear them.

I'm also wondering where to get driver's manual(what's the sport/economy/winter switch for) and what the best shop manual is for a 1993 Volvo 850.

In sport mode, the transmission shifts at slightly higher RPMs and downshifts quicker, providing a little better performance. In winter mode, the car starts in second or third gear, which decreases the chance for wheelspin on slippery surfaces.

You can get the owners manual and the best shop manual from Volvo.

Re: Tips for more pep? 850 1993

doesn't take much to wake up your car

first make Sure all baseline items are good to excellent ie compression oil vac boost leaks coolant is good motor is quiet and bottomend is tight if any of these are supicious then correct now b4 anything

with just boost and fuel management this thing will turn into a rocket

BUT like all mods it comes at a price /comesurate with performance

if you go fast you MUST improve things to stop fast!!!

if engine wants to breath more then you MUST let it exhaust more etc. etc

contact me if you are serious to do this

i will help to educate you in this arena
