SRS code 112 (93) (update) 850 1993

After work yesterday, my SRS light came on. As it had come on earlier this year, I knew the process of finding out the code, and resetting it.

So I tried that, but it doesn't clear the codes.

Upon doing more research, it appears that the SRS module/sensor needs to be replaced. Based on searching here, it's # 9459275

I've looked online (just a quick look last night) and it appears to be a very spendy part. Does anyone know of a place to buy it that won't cost me a chunk of change?

I re-upped my researching on how to clear the code, and tried it again. Apparently my first attempts at re-setting it were done in error. Did it the correct way and as of now, the code is cleared.

Still want to know where to get a module if I need one. Thanks in advance.

If I replace the module, it would be most likely a PnP option.

I haven't checked or cleaned anything, I'll look into that once I'm done with the struts this weekend. Thanks all for the tips

Have you cleaned the ABS sensors at each wheel? That can often be the problem if the SRS tends to go on and off. My 93 854 had that problem. It is a common problem on 240's with ABS and earlier 850's. Luckily for me, my 95 855 SRS light has never come on even with 230k+ miles..:)

I remember reading here that it is the 96/97 850's and early V70's/S70's that are prone to the ABS module problem. You may simply have rusted, cruddy ABS sensors.

What do ABS wheel speed sensors have to do with the SRS system?

My 93 needed a "contact reel". It's under the steering wheel air bag. It's common as they become brittle with age and break, triggering the SRS light. Have you worked under the dash lately as the wires may become unplugged or connections became loose. Unless you are positive it's the moduel I would check for other problems.

I just checked Tasca for the part and price. $1,000, but discontinued...

Will a 97 work? I suggest going to a pick&pull and looking for an 850 that has not suffered a collision (air bags intact) and grabbing one.
