Hi All,
My son is looking at buying a Jan 03 build V70.
Can anyone advise me on when the notorious gearbox issues were removed by a change of box so that I can work out if this car is free of those? I believe it was around this time.

    Your son should be good to go. The 5 speed trannies were a problem for 2000-2002. He can check the color of the fluid, pink-light red, the yellow dipstick is on the transmission side by the radiator. I am not that familiar with the RHD layout.

    Ask if there is any maintenance history, other than the word of the seller which doesn't mean anything.

      PS. Have you fitted your roo bar yet? We call them bull bars here but they would prevent damage from roos far more often than from bulls!

        We have the same problem with white tail deer. Seems that they never cross the road where the signs are posted. They don't look right or left!
