Stuck seat belt V70-XC70

Hello all
I bought a replacement third row retractable seat belt for a dog destroyed one in my car.
I am unable to release it from its fully retracted position. I have tried slowly from a level position and at this stage won't live long enough to release it. Are there any tricks to make this happen.
Thanks for your advise
David

I'm not familiar with the third row restraint system, so I'm I'm just grasping straws....

Before you mounted the retractor in the car, were you able to pull the belt out of it if you turned it in different orientations?

Is there any sort of pyrotechnic device associated with the third row seat belts? (Kinda doubt it.) I was wondering if you may have gotten a belt retractor that has been in in accident and something about it has been "triggered", rendering it unusable.

Hi Chris
No pyrotechnics, just retracted all the way. I tried for ages to release with no joy, so decided to remove the other side as well to keep the DMV happy. This was the best option at the time due to time constraints. When I can find a lot of time I will have another go
Cheers David

There are 2 locking pins in the reel that catch the side and lock it. Now that it is out of the car, you should be able to loosen it just enough to free the sticking pin.

When it gets warmer outside?
