loosening axle hub nut V70-XC70

I have got to replace the right front hub bearing assembly on my wife's '98 V70. I have loosened the lug nuts and am now trying to loosen the axle hub nut (drive shaft nut) before I put it on on jack stands. I have a breaker bar with half-inch drive and a 36mm socket for the hub nut and even a length of cast-iron pipe for extension. I have been dowsing the nut with PB Blaster all day and still don't seem to be able to break that nut loose. What is the secret to breaking this nut? Will heating the nut with a propane torch help?
Thanks, John

    Hi, my 850/94 experince
    - removed the nut lock-pin
    - had about 6 feet extension bar
    - and partner to press brake pedal for counter force,
do not use this kind of force against automatic P-lock.

I did my '98 S70, and had same problem...used lots of PB Blaster, cheater bar on extension, AND....heat...propane won't get it hot enough, I used a handheld Oxyacetylene setup, bought at Home Depot, that really helped..

I had the same problem.. I used the breaker bar with the extension. Then I put a large pipe wrench on the socket itself with another extension on that. With 2 of us the nut finally came off.

I have not done that on our '04 V70, but is the nut staked or otherwise locked on the axle ? I would suggest a little heat for any thread locker and an impact wrench.
