2006 XC70 50K miles- what spark plug? The OEM at FCP Groton are $60, Bosch Plat and Iridium are 1/2 that. What is best for my car? I just want to get a new set in before the winter here in NY...

    If Volvo thought the other plugs were better for your car, they would use them.

    They could still mark them up if they wanted to cheat their customers as many think they do.

    Look around for a better price - what does your dealer want for a set?

    I cannot say what brand, but I have read of owners who complain about plugs that last only 10K.

    BTW - Click and Clack say - If you leave your plugs in for 100K, they are good FOREVER - you will never get them out!

    They advise that plugs should be pulled out every few years, examined, gapped and reinstalled if they show no problems.

      Honda and Toyota do not replace spark plugs until 100K miles! Replacement plugs come coated with a special anti-sieze formula.

      Most of the Volvo plugs are good for 60K miles, but replacement plugs do NOT come with anti-sieze, you need to add some yourself. AND always re-coat the plug threads if the plugs are ever removed for inspection.
