Turbo Oil Line S70

I purchased a 98 S70 T5 manual transmission about 6 months ago. It now has about 132,000 miles on it and I have 2 questions:

1. I want to change the timing belt. How do I know which tensioner to buy and is there a vendor to stay away from?

2. I have a leak in the turbo oil return line where it attaches to the block right above the oil pan. I have search and cannot find a write up. The one at volvospeed is not there anymore.

Regards,

Maggie Rosado

The best way to find out is to take off the 10 or 12mm bolt and lift off the cam belt cover. If you have an hydraulic tensioner (black shock), you do not need to replace it, just the tensioner roller.

Because I had an AWD version, I let a shop repl the oil gasket as the bevel gear box was in the way. http://volvospeed.com/volvo_repairs_how_tos/oil_repairs/turbo_oil_return_line.html

Thank you Klaus. After I posted this I took another look and I see oil on the bottom of the turbocharger itself. It seems to be leaking down to the oil pan. Is there a gasket on the turbo that needs to be replaced from time to time?

There are two internal seals in the turbo, but none that would cause a leak to the outer casing. Besides, the casing does get quite hot and the oil should burn off.

You might want to check the rear camshaft seal, sometimes it will leak and flow around to the rear and drip down. Air flow can cause the oil to drip on the turbo.
