Driver's Power Seat went down but won't come back up. 850 1993

Help -

I reclined my power seat and now it won't come back up. I can hear the motor running and all other power functions are running fine.

Is there anything I can do or is this a dealer thing? Is there a manual way to at least put the seat back to the upright position?

Any ideas out there?

The problem is most likely the cable has become loose over time that is used to bring the seat back up. I have had similar problem, dealer wanted to replace it, I just tightened it up and clamped it with cable clamp.

No big deal. Getting covers off the seat, etc is a pain though!

Here are repair instructions (not sure how to manually

get seat back up):

Ray -

It turns out that a new cable was not required (at least for now).

In my case it appears the screw cable end had somehow lost contact with the gears. I opened the case cover and pulled out the gears and able to manually raise the seat a little and put it together and it worked. couple repeats to adjust where it stops and seems fine.

Although I think I'll wait before reinstalling the hog ties until I'm confident a new cable isn't needed.

Thanks!

Zip ties work REALLY well in place of hog rings. And they don't require ANY special tools :-)
