What is the capacity of my fuel tank and how much is in there when the low fuel light comes on?

My light came on today and I wondered if I could make it to my regular station about 6 miles away. I did make it and put in 16.289 gallons. Did I have any left before stopping?

    18 gallon tank, plus a little more in the filler tube. The light is supposed to come on at the 2 gallon mark.

    My 1998 V70R would go 40-50 miles once the light came on. If you have a dash computer, switch it to miles to zero but do not try to get to 5 miles left!!! Been there, done that - it ran out of gas going uphill to the pump.

    If its the same as an 850 and I remember correctly, then the capacity is 18.2 or 18.3 gallons. Although something is telling me it maybe 19.2 or 19.3.

    Sounds like your gauge is right on the money. Should have 2 gallons left when the light comes on. Although my 850 seems to have about 3 gallons left when the light comes on. However, I try and make it a habit of refilling after I get to a 1/4 tank.

    Do you have an owner's manual? It's in there.
