How do I buy another Volvo? V70-XC70

I am not happy with my 2009 XC70. Slow , uncomfortable driver's seat, and poor mpg. I would, however, like the NON- AWD version, or the V70. I have one year left on the CPO warranty. How do I sell this thing? How do I find a replacement vehicle? Originally, I went to the dealer (last October), that's how I acquired this vehicle. I went back to them, they said "We'll look around". What other reliable options do I have?

Volvo no longer sells a V70 in this country - they sell a FWD XC 70 instead, I have one and like it - I got a great deal on a new one last June, and its blue book value is still worth more than I paid for it - they do not sell many of the plain Jane models.

Up to 2007 you can find the same body.

Any XC 2008 and newer is built in their latest, cross over like body.

Find a nice 850R - I just traded mine and in 11 years, I never got out of it without a smile on my face.

I did not like the seat at first, but I never liked the seats in new loaners - out 2008 fancy model has nice, broken-in seats.

The warranty should be worth something, If you trade it in, make sure that they account for that. If you don't think so, look in Kelly Blue book - you will see a several thousand dollar drop when the warranty is over.

Except for the CPO status, I don't like buying from dealers. Always get a Carfax or some such to see the history of ownership. There should be maintenance records.

You have a 6 cylinder engine that is quite thirsty, especially around town. Look around for a 5 cylinder with a turbo (T5) preferred. And do not LIMIT yourself to the NYC area. A one way flight on Southwest costs less than $250 to most of the USA.

Have a mechanic, even a Volvo dealer, check out the car befor you buy it. Usual cost $100-150.

Driver seat comfort: That is a toughie, the seats changed a little and is a common complaint. Find a 2010-12 and just sit in it for 30 minutes, or a 2005-6 V70. Do not get one with 'sport' suspension as that transfers more road bumps to the seat bottom.

The 3.2 is thirsty, but not much more so than my old 2.4 na. Surprised? I've complained about poor economy, but as the miles roll up it has gotten better. The home to Bangor round trip has gone from 26-27 to 30 or even better. That would be subsonic speed. I expect that at 80 or so it would be a hog. If I run 50-60 on the two lanes it gets closer to 33.
