Battery suggestions; Radio Code needed 850 '97

Hey all- My batt. is dying on me so can you recommend a replacment that is better than OEM and can I still use that cover for the POSITIVE terminal?? Also, i can't find the card w/radio code; thought I knew it but was wrong, now I'm locked out of my tunes for TWO hours at a time. Other than a trip to the dealer, is there any way to decipher the right code. TIA, BD

Re: Battery suggestions-- Found one 850 '97

Thanks for the suggestions, all. I settled for an AutoZone Duralast size 48D: $59 + tax(NYC). The good thing about this battery is it has the holes to reuse the terminal cover AND it's about 700cca and 115mins reserve capacity( way more than the stock batt.- which the dealer said costs ~$160). And to top it off, consumer reports rated it(Autozone) excellent in 1999. Oh well, now i can blast my tunes again!! CIAO,BD

I like Interstate or sears DieHard (Johnson Controls is again

suppling the DieHard line and they also make Interstate). But,

you can't use the OEM + terminal cover. On the plus side, the

car should still start using the same battery 4 years from now :)

See http://www.johnsoncontrols.com/bg/ for more info and a list

of all the brands their batteries sell under.

Others also recommend Delco. I've had Delco in GM products and

had good luck with Delco batteries, too.

Second on the Interstate or DieHard. My car is on it's second Volvo battery. I only have it because it was absolutely FREE!
