suspension clunk 850 96

I checked the archives and can't seem to find info on a problem I've had for awhile. Now I've decided to fix it. Going over uneven ground my suspension makes a clunking from the suspension. Sounds like it comes from the rear usually, but the strut mounts, rear sway bar, and bushings all seem fine. The front sway bar end links look shot, however. I hear this is a common component to fail (I have nearly 140K on them). Anyone taken these off? I tried this weekend but the lowed nut is frozen solid, so I'll have to cut it off if I really think this is the culprit? Also, after getting my O2 sensors replaced last week, the dealer noted I might want to look at the front door window "guide" - feels the glass is loos in there. Anyone replaced that piece? Thanks in advance, Kevin

Re: suspension clunk 850 96

Yeah, those front sway bar endlinks will clunk a bit on bumpy roads if they're shot. Get them replaced and the clunking should go away. If not, check the front spring retainer cups (aka spring seats)--the top ones usually go out. Both of these are common problems on this particular model.

Good luck with it.
