Headlight lens replacement on 850 850 '93

Could anyone post or email me the steps for changing the left side headlight lens on my '93 850 GLE. The car is equipped with wipers. Also, the correct steps to resetting the service light. Thanks in advance.

Re: Headlight lens replacement on 850 850 '93

I replaced the lens on my 97 GLT w/wipers. It was VERY straight forward. I removed the lamp assm., took off the "clips" with a small screwdriver as mini pry bar, out with the seal, it was dry (no adhesive) in with new seal on with the lens and clips. No big deal. I got mine from IPD, but I have found there are many sources for the lens or even the lamp assm.

Good luck, you'll do fine.

Re: Headlight lens replacement on 850 850 '93

I replaced the right lens on my 93 850 recently...here's what I remember...

release and remove the turn signal assembly (I think it is held in place by a spring).

take the lighbulb assembly out...

Remove the headlight assembly...I think there were 3 or 4 nuts...most easy to get to..one was not...i had to loosen and nudge the hood latch out of the way..

pop the clips off top and sides of the lens..the bottom one can be manipulated out with a stout piece of string/wire..

take the old gasket out

now repeat the process...gasket, lense clips, headlight in....

Hope this helps...it took me about 2 hours..being VERY careful

good luck!

Tom
