The family 1999 V70 base model (5 sp manual, cloth seats, no sun roof) now lives in California with a daughter. It looks pretty good (the car) and runs perfectly. She is still on the original clutch and original rear brakes. One front axle needed replacement after a boot was torn and grit got in. Also, she had to replace the window control switches on the driver door and one rear door. Otherwise, I am surprised what a robust car this has been. The plastic technology inside was faulty, and panels squeak and groan. One of the screw holders on the dash is broken, and the dash squeaks a lot. It runs at 80 mph securely. The 5-sp sales were extremely low in USA - do you really think you can find one?

Manula tranny is good for your life, the clutch should have gone at least 200K. Someone just reported 350+ on his clutch.

If the RMS was changed, figure on cleaning out the flame trap and the oil separator.

The AC evaporator is always suspect. They develope leaks.
