I tried to add on to an earlier response to this question..... but it didn't
post.
Therefore: Klaus in the earlier post you mentioned an 8mm(?) screw to loosen to remove the wippers. I looked quickly and do not see the screw on my 2004.
I like the idea of leaving the shafts to keep rotating so they stay freed up.

Im not Klause but, there are plastic caps at the base of the headlight wiper arms that cover the 8mm nuts you spoke of. Lift the caps to reveal.
