Turbo blender-blade Wheels n K & Ns

Ever notice how when the car moves forward, them blender-blade type alloys that came with the Turbo cars are swept in one direction on one side of the car, and the opposite way on the other side?

i mean if you look at it in isolation, it looks alright and both wheels face "clockwise". but if you keep in mind the car moves forward the wheels are kinda moving in opposite directions.

... yeah, who cares?

Okay, am thinking of getting a K&N open cone filter. just wanna know experience of any turbo owner who've installed open K&N cone filters. are they loud and do you notice any difference in response? do you feel the car gets lethargic in city driving in hot weather cos the open filter's drawing in hot air from the engine compartment?

thanks.

    Re: Turbo blender-blade Wheels n K & Ns 850 94

I installed an open cone-type K&N filter (same part number as those for Mustang 5.0's, so most shops have them) about 10k miles ago and have been pleased with the results. The first thing you'll notice after installation is slightly more intake noise under boost and a pronounced boost-dump "exhale" when jumping off the throttle. It sounds like a blow-off valve chirp, except it's more of a "whoosh". I like it, but if you don't get off to the sound, it will become annoying. Also, if you hope to sell your car, the jackass buyer will wonder what's wrong with the car. Don't expect much, if any, increase in performance. I too was worried about drawing in hot air from the engine compartment, but last summer during 100degree heat with the A/C on, I noticed no degradation in performance.
