Whether to buy or not a 2012 t6 What do you think Klaus C V70-XC70

My newest Volvo was a 1998 V70R that I paid too much for. It did give me a lot of years of pleasure with little expense.

I just test drove a 2013 XC60 with the T6 and I was really impressed, lots of effortless power and reasonable gas mileage according to the computer. The new T6 engines are much better than the 2004-10 years. The 2012 depends on the number of gears and type of driving you do.

The XC70 is still a good car. Ask if it has rear heated seats, a plus for Canada! 40K Loonies is a bit high and I would try to bargain them down some, as the car is about to be 2 years old.

Geez, Klaus, didn`t I get "reprimanded" a few years back for addressing a thread to you specifically? After all, you are "the guy"!!
Sounds like this is a CDN car.....depending on where he is, I`d be asking about a block heater too. We bought the 03 XC here in Alberta where winters can be much like Minnesota so didn`t consider that the car might have been brought out here from Southern Ontario & no BH. Would have been easier on the motor a few mornings when we couldn`t get it in the garage, ie, drifted in!

The guy caught me on a good day :>)

Calgary gets a bit colder than Minnesota, but the cows won't be dropping for a few weeks yet. Yes, a block heater is a good idea. Just parking in a garage helps a lot, especially when it is -40. It never gets that cold here anymore, a few -20F (-30C) and that's it.

I just think you Canadians get the shaft now that the Loonie is worth more than a US dollar. I guess we have it good down here.

One of these years I am going to stop by the ranch and check it out. That is not a threat, it is a promise! It is on the way to Banff. I'll buy the first beer.

Always welcome at the ranch! V70-XC70

          Klaus,
Ok, that explanation will do for me! Yeh, we`re a few hrs away from Banff but certainly "on the way" & there`s always a few cold ones in the fridge.
Doesn`t get that cold in Minnesota? Must be climate change! When I was there in the late 70`s visiting friends I remember it was darn cold & driving thru a major blizzard in Minn/Wisconsin. The old 544 with dedicated snows never let me down.

A friend of mine bought a 2012 T6. Drove it once. Fabulous engine! Gas mileage will be lower than your 2004.
