XC90 Transmission Fluid Cooler Question XC90

Can anyone tell me...

Did the XC90 V8 come with a transmission fluid cooler as standard equipment?

If not, was it an option, or not available at all?

I'm trying to determine towing capacity and everything I can find indicates 4,960 pounds "if properly equipped". I just can't find what "properly equipped" means, specifically. I only imagine it means a receiver hitch rated accordingly, and a transmission cooler...

Any thoughts, guidance, or experience is welcome.

XC90 Transmission Fluid Cooler Question XC90

All of the other XC90s came with an ATF cooler as part of the radiator. For verification, look for upper and lower hoses on the driver's side, about 1/2 diameter.

Properly equipt means trailer hitch rated for 5000lbs. And a trailer with electric brakes.

XC90 Transmission Fluid Cooler Question XC90

      Thanks, Klaus -

      The XC90's owner's manual says...

Vehicles used for towing a trailer on a regular basis, or for long-distance highway towing should be equipped with an automatic transmission oil cooler and Volvo's automatic self-leveling system for the rear suspension. Consult your Volvo retailer.

I don't own an XC90 yet, so I'm not able to look to see if it has one.

      It also says...

      Smoother starts with a trailer
Models equipped with the V8-engine and the 6-speed automatic transmission have a built-in function that reduces acceleration slightly in first gear when the vehicle is towing a trailer. This is done to help avoid wheel spin and to make starting off smoother.
This function is activated when the trailer's electrical connector is plugged into the electrical socket mounted near the trailer hitch.
The function is automatically deactivated when the trailer's wiring is disconnected from the socket. The vehicle will then accelerate normally.

Does anyone know if the XC90 is pre-wired (standard) or if it must be equipped with the factory hitch to leverage this functionality?

I am looking to purchase one, but there aren't a lot of them out there with the factory towing package.

Thanks again (in advance) for any comments / replies...
