outside mirrors...newbie question V70-XC70 2004

On my '04 V70 the outside mirror housings, at the bottom, have clear plastic.
Looks like this is for some type of illumination. I've tried the turn signals and turning on headlights switch, but these don't light up.

What's the deal? Did I get a model that didn't come wired for this feature?

If you try to replace a bulb, look at your owner's manual first - if you pry on the wrong end, you will break the whole assembly.

Our new XC 70 had a broken assembly that was held in by blue RTV goop - it may have even happened at the factory!

Press the yellow button on the key FOB. They should light up as will other lights to help locate the car and let you see if any is anyone in the car. This action
does not unlock the car.
