where to find the voltage regulator of bosch alternator for volvo 850 ? 850 1995

as title , I have a alternator for volvo 850 but its voltage regulator is broken , i want to buy one and replace it , maybe sell the alternator for someone who need it .

any idea ?

    try www.kparts.com. you'll probably have to e mail or phone them for a regulator. I've gotten them there before for bosch units, but not for a long time now.

    I had the same problem. Volvo wanted about $400 to repair. I found a place here in Atlanta that replaced the regulator for about $120. Find a good alternator repair shop and ask them.

    The regulator is built in BUT how do you know that its problem is the voltage reg and not a bad diode? With the older 4 cyl Volvos, the voltage reg/brush set was about the only thing that ever went bad with them and it was easily replaced by removing 2 screws but (to my knowledge) that's not the case with 850 alternators. These days at the dealers, the alternator is just replaced with a reman when it's no longer charging and not serviced in the shop.

    Otherwise you might try taking it to one of those places that rebuilds alternators/starters if they're still around?

      Hi John O:

      The alternator regulator for volvo 850 is just been installed as only 2 screws , and I make sure it's broken because this alternator will generate voltage over 13v while the run too fast , then maybe burn some bulbs ....

      I replace my alternator with reman one and I keep the old one, I just want try to fix it , then I have another backup alternator (ha ha, that's sometims interesting... I don't replace alternator every month ... ).

      So , the symptons I describe above , may is due to fail voltage regulator...

      But now I still don't know where to find a regulator for my alternator ..
