upper engine mount V70-XC70 2001

Hello all,
Thanks Klaus for your suggestions to fix my problems. The lower mount down by the crank pulley is ok and on further inspection, the upper engine mount is shot. The superseded square rubber mount flops around within its mount and doesnt seem much better than the original. My question is : has anyone used the round poly mount such as supplied by ipd, and on a scale of 1 to 10, how much has the vibration increased in the cabin? Also, is there any benefit of securing the engine mount crossbar more securely to the strut towers? I have shoved bits of heater hose into the square mount to improve my lot at the moment and the lower transmission mount is new oem rubber. Looking forward with thanks to your opinions.
David

Hello, Re: ".. the round poly mount such as supplied by ipd, and on a scale of 1 to 10, how much has the vibration increased in the cabin? " The steering wheel of my smoothly running V70 shook violently. It was truly asinine. Local Volvo guys told me not to even try it as did nearly everyone on this board who did. I switched it to the $16 (at the time) factory insert. You should've seen the face on the guy who passed on buying the car. Kira

Used the poly insert on a 99 S70 and 2000 V70XC. Worked great, no extra vibration whatsoever. Couldn't stand flimsy construction of factory part. Every transverse mounted engine Volvo has had an upper engine mount fail. Wasn't impressed with factory solution.
