Can I disable the DRL's- 2009 xc70??? V70-XC70

I am contemplating installing HID's in my 2009 XC70. The current headlights are just not bright enough for me. They seem yellow, and no more improved than my old 95- 850. Do I have to have the DRL's disabled? Otherwise the HID's are on full-time. Expensive use of the bulbs.
Is turning off the DRL's a dealer thing for these cars?
