Brakes@%$#&! S70 98

OK, yet another drama. I'm cateloging a list of ailments b/f I bring my car into the dealer. The most important one is the brakes. They appear to have lost some stopping power, and when I apply them I feel an unnatural vibration (not ABS) through the pedal, but no audible squeeking etc... Any thoughts??

Re: Brakes@%$#&! S70 98

Service mod for rear rotors to stop high frequency vibration/pulsing. Dealer should be able to tell. Normally more obvious under lighter braking.

As for stopping power, check pad type. Non OEM/cheaper pads can be poor performers especially as wear increases. Also have brake fluid replaced every 6 or at most 12 months. Uneven rotor wear can be a cause.

Re: Brakes@%$#&! S70 98

Have noticed a decrease in stopping power on my 2000 S70SE . it has only 11,000 miles. Also noticed that when driving in a moderate to hard rain on the highway, and I go to break, its like my breaks have disappeared, like I drove through a deep puddle. After pressing hard on the breaks it seems to be ok.. like they got wet and needed to be dryed out. Never saw that before and seems very dangerous.. Anyone experience similar problems????

Sounds exactly like warped rotors. If thats the case they will need to be replaced.
